Morning all
Looks to be another nice day we had some rain yesterday but only showers so we were able to avoid it, three people coming today I’m not sure what we will get up to yet will see what they fancy doing.
Bacon egg and chips for dinner tonight nice and easy, I have put a small wash on so will hang that out before I go to work, I have a meeting later this afternoon so hope that’s quite a quick one.
TA wow that’s quick, well done for being brave and accepting the appointment it will be over before you know it xx
Camelot hope you feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Lovely day here. We have the plasterer coming to do DS2’s bedroom ceiling today so spent last night clearing the room. DD’s room still needs another coat of paint on the walls which we’ll do this morning as the carpet is being fitted this afternoon. It’s on two levels - top level already painted and that’s where the carpet is going. Lower level walls to be painted and will have wood flooring at some point.I have a parcel to post today and need to get some cash for the carpet fitter plus a FD card to post off to Dad overseas. Feel like it’s all go atm.Glad you don’t have to wait for your op @TravellingAbuela - and hope you have a good catch up with your DF today x

Morning all.
I too had trouble getting on yesterday morning so had to leave it. We were out for a 4 mile walk with friends, which was quite long enough in the heat! It was meant to be a bluebell walk but they had all faded as we'd left it a bit late. Never mind; we had a good catch up over a pub lunch afterwards.
It was 22 degrees here at 7am so the fans are out ready for action. I've hung one load of washing on the line but that's it.
TA: how good to get an appointment for tomorrow and get it sorted. I've had both mine done, albeit with a seven year gap in between. You will be fine.
Hugs to all and hope your day goes well.13 -
Morning everyone
It's lovely to hear everyone is enjoying the sunshine - I had a lovely sit outside when I got home from work yesterday, then pottered in the garden. Also had a good chat with DD in Germany.
This morning I have an appointment with the physio at my doctors surgery - my knee is still painful, especially when I walk and I'm still taking ibuprofen and paracetamol for it. It must be about 14 weeks since I fell so will see what she says.
TA well done on taking the appointment...it will soon be over with. I've worn contacts since I was 18 so not as squeamish as some with eyes.
Izzy you gave me a laugh too.
I've a couple of jobs to get done before I go for the bus, so I'll wish you all a good day x13 -
Hi everyone,
I was another who gave up on yesterday's thread.
I was in and out like a jack in a box with various things and in between times trying to clean, make a loaf of bread and make dinner.
Today is an Esther day and it's so lovely we'll probably potter along to the park. Steve is golfing and then we'll go over and see to Chris and Crystal's cat. They missed their flight on Sunday because of IT problems at Stansted so they had to go yesterday.
Good luck tomorrow although I'm sure you won't need it.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all, glad to hear you've finally got the sun @Gers. Another lovely day forecast here, maybe not quite as hot as yesterday but it's still good at around 21 deg that suits me just fine.
@TA - Well done at surviving the pre-assessment and for accepting the appointment cancellation. I told you they'd be quick at getting you in! You honestly won't believe the difference it will make.
More painting done yesterday - it's never ending, or at least that's how it feels - but none today. Instead, I'll clean the outside downstairs windows that didn't get done at the weekend. I can't venture too far as I'm expecting a parcel and have a couple of other things I need to get on with too. Tea tonight is cooked gammon with baby potatoes and veg, fruit & jelly for afters.
Last night was much more peaceful and I've managed to catch up on some sleep after Monday night's disturbance. I saw my NDN yesterday, but not to speak to, and the glazier has been back this morning to measure up for new glass for her smashed windows. Sadly, her son has been a Bad Lad for a good number of years and I doubt he's going to change any time soon so she'll have some serious thinking to do.
Right, time to make a start on the windows before the sun catches up with me - I don't want streaky ones! Enjoy your day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all, I didn't post yesterday either. It's gorgeous today with a slight breeze. Sat outside for a bit in the back, went for a walk, picked DGS up. He was a bit tired after being inside the school doing his SATS but soon revived after an ice lolly here. I think my DB1 may call today to see us before we go away. Some packing cubes arrived yesterday so most of my stuff is organised now, ready to put in the suitcase.More bbq last night, nice and easy for me as DH is the barbecue manSorry to hear the sad news about Fuddle, condolences.RR we still haven't had any rain, can't remember the last time.TA, wow that's quick, less time to mither about it though.Hope you all enjoy your day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. TA glad you have a quick appointment I'm a wus as well didn't even use eyeliner until my late teens as hate anything near my eyes.
DP1 hope your physio appointment helps.
We are still on driving duty for DGD and she needs to be in school by 8. I'm not such an early bird as I was when I worked so went back for a nana nap as didn't sleep very well last night.
Another BBQ for us tonight I bought some lovely large chops from the butchers so looking forward to them with new potatoes and salad later.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all from Mehefinland - just scuttling in before the clock goes
Well an odd few days taken up with council stuff and just 'stuff'. The back garden looks like a garden centre with all the stuff potted on for our plant sale. I must make sure I keep some for me after all the work that's gone into it.
Had a lovely phone call yesterday from Dawn's Godmother !!!!!! Step mother ( it's a long complicated story) who had received her birthday card and flowers I sent. She was 97 yesterday and as sharp as a tack, but says her mobility is failing her. We had a wide ranging discussion amongst which was a bit about D-Day80. She said she had mixed feelings as it brought back so memories of that time in her life and the hardships which the current generation has no conception of. It was quite a sobering discussion in some ways of her 3 or 4 times a week dancing and the young men who 'bought it' and just were not there any more. I suppose you had to accept it, and get on with things.
The buttercups in the field are going wild. This time last week there were only the odd few, but with a bit of sun ( but sadly no rain) they have exploded into life. The field is yellow. It could almost be a mustard or rape field from a distance. I had to chase up fairy to come in yesterday and the bottoms of my jeans were yellow with pollen as high as my knee.
Grass needs cutting at home, so that might be this afternoon's job.
Take care all. Hugs and spoons as always
