  • You really need to do some research before investing with Moneda. They have no history of success or assets and you can only ‘see’ your investment and its possible growth on their portal. Also some people with a vested interest have previously been investigated for fraud. Trustpilot reviews are all recent and basically say how helpful the adviser (salesman) is. It’s up to you  but I would definitely be cautious

There is an official source of information for members of the public to find out which firms have FCA permission to conduct regulated activities - that is the Financial Services Register. Accepting deposits and making financial promotions to consumers are both regulated activities that require FCA authorisation. It is a criminal offence for a firm to carry on a regulated activity without the FCA's permission.
There was a very good interview several years ago on Rip-Off Britain, where Mark Steward, FCA Executive Director of Enforcement and Market Oversight made the following comments:
"If you're on the Register, it means we've checked you out, and there are safeties in place if things go wrong. If you're not on the Register, it means there's risk and there's danger ... It’s a criminal offence for a firm to carry on a regulated activity without our permission … The Register is the safest place for people to invest their money. If you invest your money without using a firm that’s on our Register, then there is a huge amount of risk and there's not a lot we can do when things go wrong."
If you follow the above advice, then the decision regarding Moneda Capital is made very simple. A decision can be reached before moving on into any extended due diligence at Companies House or googling current and former directors.
  • I believe I dodged a bullet by pulling out of investing with them at the 11th hour. They promised me a very good rate with LHV bank but LHV said they do not deal with them. Some of the people behind Moneda  (check out Companies House) have some dodgy history. All the 5* reviews on Trustpilot are from new investors praising the salesmen. The existence of your investment is only evidenced through the Moneda portal. It could be a Ponzi scheme
