Audi 12 year perforation warranty

I have a 4 year old Q2 with bubbling paint on the bonnet. An independent bodyshop has said it's corrosion.  Audi won't fix it under their warranty saying it's not covered as the 3 year warranty has finished and the 12 year warranty is rust through only. Any advice where I go next as its a £1k plus fix on a £20k car. Thanks.

You have the option to wait for it to rust through or to pay for the repair yourself. You might also consider selling the car, as the repair might not last the same time as the rest of the vehicle.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

The 12 year warranty will only cover perforation of the panel from rust that started on the inside, and wasn't there on the last annual corrosion check. (do check the small print, but it is usual to exclude anything that could cause rusting!)

Anything found on the corrosion check must be rectified, either through the guarantee (wishful thinking) or your hard cash.

Surface bubbling is going to be a paint defect (not covered by the anti-perforation warranty) or the result of an untreated stone chip, scratch, bird poo, tree sap, rain etc.

You can't leave it to rust through as they will know it came from the outside, and will have marked it down on the annual corrosion checks (miss any and it is goodbye anti perforation warranty)

Some manufacturers will rectify paint defects that cause surface corrosion on panels outside of the manufacturer warranty, but it is more of a goodwill gesture than an obligation.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
