Civil enforcement ltd

Hi guys, New Year’s Eve 2024 I entered a doctors surgery car park. Parking enforced by civil enforcement Ltd. Previously no parking restrictions. So was unaware. Long story short i appealed both to them & independently popula. I have doctors letter to show I was using the car park for the right reasons. Out of principle I don’t think I should pay it. Rang citizens advice. They say because it’s private ignore it. Unless it’s an official court order. Then sit up. Even when scary letters start arriving ignore…What’s people’s thought please…

Plan A is always a complain to the landowner and your MP, and it is never too late to do so.

Normally we don't advise people to contact CAB about the unregulated private parking industry as they are genuinely clueless and sometimes give advice that could cost a motorist money.
In your case however they are correct. Ignore everything from now on except a letter of/before claim or a court claim. Come back to this thread if that happens.

Meanwhile, enact Plan A. Whilst you are at it, ask when the parking terms were changed, and get photos of the site and signage, including anything inside that indicates a terminal should be used to register parking.
If the surgery has a PPG (Patient Participation Group) then contact them and/or the practice manager and senior partners.

Also check appointment letters and notice boards to see if the change in parking terms was mentioned.

Thank you so much for speedy reply. Can doctors squash it if they want to ?

Have another go at them and send the surgery this video, telling them they have fallen into the exact same trap as Yarm surgery:

Egg on the faces of the Doctors.  And they couldn't stop CEL. Even worse, at first Yarm Surgery BLAMED the patients publicly.

How did they deal with your appeal?
Did they email you a link to their response?
Was the response on a public webpage that anyone with the link can view with no secure log in etc and did it include your personal information - Name, Address and Reg?
Do you feel that they followed GDPR?
