We were FTB, offered mid May last year, completed early October, so just under 5 months. Our sellers pulled out of 2 houses in that time, the third one they went on to buy they offered on very end of July and it was an empty probate property.
Before Covid I'd say it was 3 months from saying yes in somewhere to getting the keys on average. But covid has definitely changed that.
I sold my house on 9th May last year, but my buyers wanted time to find a buyer, I was happy to agree. They found a buyer and I found a house to buy on 25th May. 4 in total in the chain, happy days!
3 of the chain moved on 20th August but I ended up moving into a flat temporarily. That was supposed to be 2 weeks but was 2 months due to solicitor delays and the woman I was buying from changing her mind on where she was moving to.
I was happy to break the chain to keep my sale but I nearly told the woman I was buying from to stick her house somewhere unsavoury a few times!
Good luck with yours, it is a bit how long is a bit of string.
