It’s raining here and has been most of the night it started just as we were sitting down for dinner in the garden luckily we were under the gazebo so it was quite nice actually.
Rob coming today and we are going to meet our friends and have a walk and then an ice cream later on, it’s meant to brighten up by mid morning so let’s hope that’s right.
I spent some time tracking down old pensions yesterday there were two I had lost track of, I managed to find one which has a healthy amount in and I’m waiting for a response from the other company it’s been at the back of my mind for a while so glad I’ve got the ball rolling on that one.
Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice, dd is off so she will probably cook, I have put a wash on this morning but I think it will have to go on the airer.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning folks and thanks RUBY. Another lovely day forecast but more cloud than recently.
A quickie from me as I have a taxi booked for my cataract assessment this morning. Thanks to cut backs I don't qualify for patient transport. So expensive taxi trips it is and the clinic is a fair distance away.grr. but family all working.
Have a good day folks if u can and take care all xx
Ps couldn't get in to MSE on my lappie so plodding on on my phone. Anyone else have a problem? X

Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off RR.
Yes TA, I'm also having problems getting on to MSE, glad it's not just me.12 -
Morning everyone
It was a bit windy here yesterday afternoon...I had a lovely sit in my summerhouse reading...then it dropped so I got some more garden tidying done. My new pots have at last come out of the downstairs loo!
Reminded DD that I need compost and ordered another quite large wooden planter which I plan to put my raspberries and strawberries in. I saved some of the raspberries which had their roots under the old shed.
Right I'm going to get some jobs done before work...including cleaning bird poo off my kitchen window....again!
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Ruby. Another lovely day in store weather-wise, up to 25 deg today, then the rest of the week high teens to low 20s with not much rain in sight.
I didn't get on here at the weekend due to decorating being in full swing. More to come today; it will be an improvement just to get rid of the plastic sheeting that's covering everything - the room looks like a crime scene!
Speaking of crime, my NDN had problems around midnight last night with her eldest son. Lots of shouting, doors banging, windows smashed, dog barking, all culminating in police presence and emergency glazier; it was around 2.30 am before everything went quiet. I'm not sure if he's been arrested or if they're still looking for him - either way, I hope tonight will be quieter.
Good luck today at the cataract assessment @TA, shame about the patient transport. I was so sorry to hear the diagnosis for your friend's DS and hope the op goes well.
I got on here OK today but not all parts of the site are working and it's a bit slow too. I have managed to read along but can't remember what everyone has said so I'll try again later.
Best wishes to all, have a good day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all - I managed to login early this morning but couldn't start the thread. Then it all went completely down, thanks @Ruby for starting us off.I'm just heading out the door for my exercise class so will return - meanwhile, good luck to @TA for the assessment session, hope it's worth the taxi fare. x9

Morning allYes I had problems getting on here this morning too. Been out early to a freezer shop and then to garden centre. Wanted some trailing lobelia and something else for some pots but couldn't make my mind up as there was too much choice, but specifically wanted something to attract bees so will have another thunk about that. Will pot lobelia up later and have a lazy day sitting in the garden as that pesky wind seems to have dropped.Have a good day all and YorksLass hope you have a quieter night tonight!10

In Memory
Those of you who knew FUDDLE as a poster, sadly she was diagnosed with an agressive form of breast cancer during the last few months of covid and after a courageous and determined fight against it she passed in early January this year, she is much missed.12 -
Morning all. Just managed ot get on now. Weather is cool after rain which is lovely excpet I can't try out my new mower now [ battery powered, great in the back garden so far] at the allotment. I don't want to be That Perosn who lets it all go to pot and gives everyone else weeds when I've already given them rats...Hence today will be a potting on day to try and save all the veg that is decidely sick looking. I know the stuff about peat but quite frankly, peat free compost so far is absolute rubbish. It doesn't wet properly and it cakes on the top really badly. I've had damping off off this year for the first time ever. I'll be food fending for myself today, OH is on lates. There's some chicken so ramen might be on the cards.TA, hope it all goes well. YorksLass, I was reading an article a while ago about women who had ben killed by their sons [ I know, an extreme thought but stil...] makes for scary reading when you think something could just change in an instant. Hope she's OK today...Allotmentman, I'm afraid I didn't know her but my condolences to you. SO take care all today...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Morning everyone I’m another that couldn’t get on here earlier TA good luck with the assessment today hope it puts your mind at rest . Yorkslass it’s awful when things like that happen I hope everything is alright it’s very worrying I’ve got 3 sons and I might be lucky but I couldn’t imagine them doing anything like that . Taff I agree about the peat free compost not that I’ve been sneaking anymore plants in but I have a plan for when I come back from my holidays he will never notice but then again I sometimes wonder if he notices anything I was parceling up a size 6 mini skirt for my granddaughter this morning she had sold and I asked him to hold it while I got a bag and he said when have you worn that I can’t remember seeing you in it bear in mind I’m a good size 18 sixty seven year old grandma I just shook my head . Mild with showers here today I’ve been for a walk and a coffee and a catch up with my friend and I’m feeling hungry I’m going to have a cuppa and a ham salad sandwich I’ve got some nice seeded buns not that the hubby will eat one of course seeds are far to exotic. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9
