Buying next to a Battery Energy Storage System

Hello,

after some views on if you would buy a property next to a battery energy storage system?

we are looking to buy a house and there is proposals to build a large battery energy storage system nearby. It’s still in the planning phase but it’s on private land and I’m going to presume it will be approved for now to help form if I want to buy here.

The map is here: fiddlersferrybess. com

And we are looking to buy near the front of the estate so quite close by (near station road)

some of my considerations:
-Daily operating safety issues? Chemical emissions etc?
-Fire issues - I know if they catch fire they pump toxic chemicals very badly.
-property price impact once built
-insurance issues
-air quality issues?
-EMF issues - tech / health

I have very little knowledge on these, so after some feedback on if you would buy, and if you would have any safety concerns?

many thanks

Suspect before it is built it will put people off, thus property under consideration might come cheap.

No serious history/evidence of safety of such installations yet afaik so dunno.

Think it depends how much of a gambler you are. Do the lottery? Only 14million to 1.....

Looks to be only an issue if they catch fire, and that seems to have only happened once in Liverpool.

I’m v new to them, I think I’ll visit the Liverpool one and park up 1/3 a mile away (distance I’ll be) and check for noise etc

They should be pretty safe and inert - much better than pretty much any factory or other power source. If there are transformers to/from grid there may be a bit of buzzing but I doubt you'd hear it 1/3rd a mile away.

It looks like they are expanding the green space and adding trees and hedges so you won't be able to see anything. I wonder if it'll be open to roam like windfarms are? If so the bigger hazard is probably going to be dog mess.

They may be nasty if they catch fire but there will be safety measures for that and it's probably no worse than any other large scale fire.

Presumably this is in place of the coal-fired power station at the same site? So...better than that, anyway.
