How to keep windowsill dry in a shower room

We have a shower room in which there is a recessed window (it’s quite an old property). We currently cover it using a piece of shower curtain that has been cut to size. It works, and keeps the windowsill area dry; but it doesn’t look good and it blocks some light.
Can anyone suggest a practical solution to improve the appearance, whilst also keeping the area as dry as possible? We are considering getting the shower room done up (i.e., new tiles, a new shower etc, so this may a good time to try to resolve the window issue). Thanks in advance.

I have a similar situation in my guest bathroom. I have a transparent roller blind that keeps the windowsill dry when needed, does not limit light when rolled up. You do need to let it dry before rolling it up though - a shower squeegee helps.0

Our old house had a window sill that had about 12 inches that got wet from the shower. We either wiped it dry after a shower, or let it dry itself. Never caused any issues.0

That looks like a UPVC sill so should be fine if it gets wet. Just make sure you have a good bead of sealant between the sill and the wall and window frame.
When you get round to re-doing the room, it may be an idea to remove the upvc sill and create a tiled one with a slight drop towards the shower to allow water to run off naturally.1
