Wear some safety specs - even if you don't overload the roller, there will be a small amount of splatter raining down on you, and you don't want that going in your eyes.

Thanks everybody, managed to get the living room 12x16 at widest point done, ceiling is fine, and did walls today, had to apply two coats of Crown easy clean paint 10 litres in total to walls (went to a more lighter colour on walls)

I have a few Argos flat pack type bookcases, with backs to them, so just wondering if when I get time, just to do behind them as well, will have to buy more paint.

I do have a platform to stand on just over a metre in height and maybe two metres long which helps a lot.

As always I am a very messy painter, couldn't remove the old suite (new one coming soon I hope) so paint tends to get everywhere with me, I have about five dust sheets from Screwfix but even so I had to keep moving them around, did masking around skirting and other places, but as its a while since I did painting and I am not getting any younger, I found it physically demanding, and thought a few times maybe saving £250 for labour, was it worth it.

    :)
