    Hi KeithP,
the issue date was 16 April 25. I filed Acknowledgement of Service on 19th April. Why is that important?
    thanks
Because @KeithP can now tell you your deadline for submitting your defence by email.

With a Claim Issue Date of 16th April, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service('AOS') in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 19th May 2025 to file a Defence.

That's one week away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an AOS has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Hello again. Update - I have now received the below email from DCB Legal. Am I right to assume I just need to wait for my N180 questionnaire from the court, and not reply to this email? Thanks.

“Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim. In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire. In preparation for that, please find attached a copy of the Claimant's, which we confirm has been filed with the Court.Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on 0203 434 0433 within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence. If you have provided an email address within your Defence, we intend to use it for service of documents (usually in PDF format) hereon in pursuant to PD 6A (4.1)(2)(c). Please advise whether there are any limitations to this (for example, the format in which documents are to be sent and the maximum size of attachments that may be received). Unless you advise otherwise, we will assume not.”

    Hello again,

I now have a date at the County Court (Notice of Allocation to the small claims track, Hearing)

Simultaneously I have received an offer of paying £80 to avoid court from G24.

I have read the Newbies thread that I need to prepare my case with bullet points etc, but my problem is I don’t really understand what I have argued in layman’s terms in my defence!

Could somebody please explain to me?

I used the template and adapted point 3 as Coupon-mad suggested above.

    Thanks!

Tell us the dates you have been given in your latest letter from the court.
Very likely that the dates mean they'll discontinue before you have to submit a witness statement.

But you won't have a hearing. DCB Legal will discontinue before the date they have to fork out the hearing fee!

Is that date BEFORE the WS deadline?

Show us the NoD when it's emailed by DCB Legal, or we can't count your success!

Yep so you've no doubt read it all, including the second page. Don't show it to us. We do not need to read court orders for people. Please can you answer my question:

Sorry, I see what you mean.

The date by which the claimant must pay £27 is 7 days BEFORE the documents and witness statement deadline.

Do you think I’ll hear that they haven’t paid that fee before the WS statement date, and so not have to submit my WS?

thanks v much for your help!

You won't be told if they pay the fee.
