Semi detached garage - want to remove - but could do with advice re party wall etc.

    At the moment the two sides of the roof support each other. And the cross members in the roof hold it together. I think that your neighbour probably has a legal right to that support.

    If you just knock your side down, the neighbour’s side will probably collapse immediately. And she doesn’t have to agree to a flat roof just to suit you. 

    So, you really need to consult with her. 

    Maybe get an architect to advise on alternatives to knocking down the garage?
