UKPC and DCBL claim

Options
Hi all,

Long story short. 3 PCN's in my partners name in 2021. Wasn't dealt with until LBC arrived once DCBL got a hold of the 'debt', (had multiple different 'debt collection' letters up until 2023).

I hopped onto here and followed the newbies guide.

All was fine until August 2023 when court paperwork was sent to our old address, even though mail redirect was set up from JULY. County court and DCBL were informed of this. In Oct 2023 general sanctions order was made, which came late via mail redirect. This was because we didnt do the DQ paperwork, but it wasn't recieved at our old or new address. Court and DCBL were emailed with proof of mail redirect, reasons why paperwork wasnt submitted and/or late etc. Also added all relevant contact info AGAIN. No response from either side. In Jan 2024 the defence was struck out, I assume because time constraints were not met?

Anyways, since Jan 2024 there has been zero communication from the court. Around April 2024, DCBL sent a letter (to our NEW address) asking for my parners contact details as 'they were not on file'??????. They also asked, AGAIN, to settle out of court. Our response was to fight in court and the debt is denied, etc (I like that the amount they are claiming has multiple debt recovery fee's thrown on top).

My question really is, what should we do/expect now? Please see the following timeline as per MCOL as a rough indication of events posted there.

A claim was issued against you on 02/05/2023

Your acknowledgment of service was submitted on 14/05/2023 at

Your acknowledgment of service was received on 15/05/2023 at

Your defence was received on 31/05/2023

Case Stay Lifted on 22/08/2023

DQ sent to you on 22/08/2023

DQ filed by claimant on 22/08/2023

General sanctions order was made on 31/10/2023

Defence was struck out on 17/01/2024

As far as we can see, no CCJ has been issued. Is the case hung because of backlogs? Would we be notified before a CCJ if the claimant has won by default?

With no response from court or DCBL we're unsure how to proceed. Would like to get this done and dusted now.

If you need more info please ask, but it's mainly about how to proceed from now.

Thanks all!

I would make sure that everybody involved knows your CORRECT address for service, DVLA, CNBC, the parking company and, via them any debt recovery companies.
