How do we find how student loan was calculated

Last year (2024-25) our Son started uni, and got close to the full maintenance loan. He's recently received information for this year's loan which has dropped to almost half of that. Our income has increased by <£3K over this period, so we expected a reduction in his loan amount, but not that much.
On my sfe account, it only shows his application for 2024-25, and says I'll be contacted again for the next year (25-26). Neither my wife or I have been contacted requesting any updated financial information.
Any idea what's going on here - has our Son done something wrong in the way he's applied for his loan? Any way we can actually see what's going on?

If the amount he has been given is the same as the minimum loan, then it does suggest they don’t have required information from you.For a student living away from home outside of London, the minimum amount is £4,915. Yes, I think that was the amount. We've not be asked to supply any information. Sounds like something's gone wrong, but not sure what we should do - perhaps just wait?

Now, it's only showing the previous academic year, and says no further information is necessary0

It is over a decade since I had to complete it, so I can’t remember and it may have changed. You could phone them and ask.
Looking at the form that the student completes, I wonder if they have entered your details correctly. https://media.slc.co.uk/sfe/2526/ft/sfe_nmt_to_mt_form_2526_o.pdf

If your son hasn't asked for your income to be considered then he'll get the minimum. He probably needs to give them a call to rectify this.0
