Switch current account

I switched my current account from NatWest to Santander last month, I didn't do my homework on what kind of facilities Santander's app had to offer.

I could send cash to a cash point using the NatWest app, I thought this would be a facility that all high street banks offered via their app but I was wrong.

I want to switch back but I'm worried I might be declined as I've recently moved away from them, and given that I've had a hard search on my credit file just weeks ago.

What are the chances of being declined?

Nobody can offer any meaningful guidance on your prospects for acceptance, given the number of factors at play in such decisions, but IMHO it's unlikely that NatWest would reject simply on the basis of you having switched away from them in the recent past.

I don't actually understand what you mean by 'sending cash to a cash point' or why it's a significant feature for you but each to their own!

What the OP means is with Natwest on their app you can request a code and input that code in one of their (or Tesco) cashpoints and get cash without the card.

Fair enough - to me that's taking cash out of a cashpoint (albeit without using the card) rather than sending cash to one but it does seem plausible that this is what they meant.

That's it, I could have explained a little clearer.
I use Google pay as my main payment method so I rarely carry my wallet.
It's surprising how often I used NatWest 'get cash'.

I'd have thought most high street banks would have that feature as part of their app by now.

May be relevant that Santander seem to be deploying "contactless" ATMs which should allow cash withdrawals using Google Pay as well as card.

Depends, of course, on this type of machine being available where you need cash.

If you do need a NatWest account then probably easier to (try and) open one in addition to your Santander rather than swapping back. Easy (and almost instantaneous) transfer between these current accounts.

Most banks do not have this feature.
