Annual Policy and Multiple Holidays over 2 years

My wife and I have an annual travel insurance policy that expires at the end of September 2025.
We have so far booked 4 holiday, in June 2025, September 2025, January 2026 and May 2026. The first one is fully paid off (by Credit Card) and part of each of the others has been paid (again on Credit Card).
My question is, what does the annual insurance cover? Does it cover all of the payments made so far? If the holiday in January 2026 or May 2026 got cancelled tomorrow by the travel company or some worldwide event, would it be covered at this point in time? If not, what is the point in taking out insurance at the time of booking, as Martin Lewis always says to do?
We will obviously be renewing the insurance so that the cover continues, but is this good enough to cover all 4 holidays? If it doesn't then how are you supposed to book holidays more than a year in advance? The internet just gives conflicting views, so I thought I would ask the experts.

If the company is ATOL /ABTA protected that's what covers a company which runs into difficulters
You should no there are exclusion which could effect even the one in June.Just depends on where you are going and if any health issues arise
Need to read the policy which could be quite a lengthy read

Any insured event during the life of the current policy should be covered, irrespective of the date of travel. I said 'insured event' because a 'worldwide event' may or may not be covered. You do need to check your policy for exclusions.0
