Poor battery performance on tablet AND phone

I have a Samsung galaxy tab A 10 and a Moto g30 phone. The tablet runs Android 11 and the phone Android 12. They have a lot, but not all of the same apps. Both were bought in 2021.
Both are showing the same symptoms (that started happeningat the same time): after a full charge the battery is showing 50% capacity after half a day and can't last a day without being charged again.

Normally the phone, with normal (to me) use would last more than 2 days between charges. The tablet would normally be recharged overnight anyway. And is usually down to 40% charge remaining by 11pm.

So what's causing the sudden poor battery performance? I've installed the AccuBattery app, but don't really understand the details of what it shows me.
My suspicions are that it's caused by an app. But I don't know which one.

All apps are up to date, as is the OS, and the tablet has recently been rebuilt after a factory reset because it was getting laggy and unusable. That was 6 weeks ago, so I'm ruling that out.

I suppose its possible that the batteries are worn out, as they are of a similar age, but both at once at the same time seems unlikely.

Both devices have the mode enabled where a full charge only acharges to 80% (cant remember what it's called).

Any ideas and suggestions welcome.

If you remember when it first started, check what apps were installed or updated around that time.

Mmm, probably earlier this week. I don't think I've seen an app update history feature anywhere.

Play store top right icon, then "manage apps and devices" then "manage"

That'll only work for the tablet if they have a SIM installed.

The majority of Android phones have a list under BATTERY showing the % use for each app.

This just shows me what was recently updated. Not a history of all updates for each app

This is a sign that the battery is going. Batteries have a lifespan of about 500 to 800 full charges, so four years isn't bad.

Regarding the tablet, the current model is the A9 the A 10 won't be released until later this year, so it's unlikely you have one. Can you double check the model?

Tablet is galaxy tab A SM-T510 it's  10.1 inch screen.
I'm wondering if the battery is on its last legs (both?). A friend has an older moto G phone and his will consume 50% battery in 24hours idling, so twice as good as my phone. Older and probably more charges.
