Of course it might, checking the T&C if the booking will have something about their rights to cancel the booking. They would also be within their rights to call the police for fraud or take the cousin to Court to recoup their cash.la531983 said:
Of course it wont, what will happen is they will spot it in the next few days and amend the balance remaining.marcia_ said:
I would definitely fess up. They will notice their mistake at some point when they tally their tills and/or accounts. The holiday will probably be cancelled with no refund forthcomingeleanorl89 said:So I’m not sure what to do in this scenario. My cousin booked for me & my children to go on holiday next year with her family. We went into the travel agents today for her to pay some of it off with cash (£1500 to be exact). Her updated booking email with balance info has now come through & the travel provider has said she paid £2500 when she actually only took £1500 in cash in!Now she is ecstatic as the amount we all now owe had come down. I’m paying a measly £250 towards this holiday so I feel like I don’t have a leg to stand on, but I feel very uneasy about the deception and think she should fess up! Arent they likely to pick up on it anyway?! Or now that they have officially made that mistake, will they be able to recharge her the extra £1000? Im on the verge of calling them but she’s getting a bit cross talking about it nowHellpppp! Thanks guys (we’re in the UK btw)2026 wins - Parker Pen, American Sweets bundle, dish magic bundle, NEU shots & a NEU training T-shirt

So long as the cousin does not try to lie when they notice the error, none of this will happen.

I’m mortified at her attitude tbh, I would never have expected it as she is very generous!1 -
Do you really think she's willing to lie if they do contact her?eleanorl89 said:

I'm not sure what kind of TA this is, but some shops with the ability to handle large amounts of cash have extra camera aimed at the tills (some overhead) so they can check what happened if the tills don't balance.
Their first thought might be that a staff member has pocketed some cash.4 -
Gosh your mind is going a mile a minute isn't it. All that will happen is the error would be noticed and the balance of the holiday will be amendedmarcia_ said:
