Amending a Will

My mother wishes to make a couple of changes to her will. One is to remove somebody and one to amend an amount bequeathed to her grandchildren. Someone has mentioned a codicil to me. Is this possible and do we need a solicitor for this? Or is the best bet to write a new will? Thanks

She would be better making a new will to reflect her current wishes, that will cancel the old (current) will.
Making amendments by codicil can lead to complexity or confusion, especially if it's done repeatedly - make a new will, setting out the current wishes.3 -
With minor changes like that it should be possible to use the current will as the basis of creating a new one yourselves, and then getting it witnessed in the normal way.0

But, any errors at all will be the fault of the testator, and the problem of the executor(s) to fix post death.... A risk.TELLIT01 said:With minor changes like that it should be possible to use the current will as the basis of creating a new one yourselves, and then getting it witnessed in the normal way.
Personally given the cost of a new will vs the value of the estate, I think it should be done properly.
