Opening First Direct Current Account via Quidco

Just saw Quidco offering a boosted cashback offer of £45 for opening a new First Direct account via their website. However, FD are only accepting current account applications on their app. I don't know if this has always been the case.

Has anyone received cashback from Quidco for opening this account via the app? 

I've tried using my desktop and phone to go through the hyperlink in Quidco, then it successfully redirects me to FD's website. But when clicking on Apply for current account, FD sends me to the app store to download their app.

Download the app first, then use the referral link, that was how I did the Virgin one

I have done this successfully (not FD, TSB I think) but I accessed the Quidco link on my phone with the bank's app already installed.

Can't remember if I used Quidco's app or via browser. but in any case make a note of the application date/time and any references in case you need to raise a claim at Quidco later.
