When I downsized I didn’t choose a bungalow because I didn’t want to end up with “bungalow legs”. Climbing stairs regularly helps to maintain fitness as you get older. I did, however, make sure my new home had a staircase that wasn’t too steep, and was wide enough to accommodate a stairlift should that become necessary.
Bungalow legs? I had to google that to realise that was classed as a real thing. 😂

There are many ways to keep fit and keep your legs strong other than climbing the stairs in your home. If that is the only activity that someone does to stay healthy then health problems are likely to catch up with them anyway.

I think with stairs you cant ignore them, however lazy or non motivated you are, and nipping up and down multiple times a day starts the activity mood off, so you go on to do more exercise.
