Morning All
Bright enough this morning but no sunshine yet. Yesterday was lovely but the wind was still quite chilly. Forgot to put the washing in so will do it later or leave it until tomorrow.
I'm meeting up with some friends after work so must get some goodies on my way, completely forgot yesterday after watering both allotments, collecting and online order, changing books at the library and then quite a long detour home as the bridge over the river was closed for an 'incident'.
Work was ok yesterday, we got quite a lot done but lots more to do the rest of the week - all the reports need to be printed and put in the system to go out on Friday.
Hope everyone is doing well, take care. XX11 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @mehefin, sometimes just getting up is the best thing to do, better than lying tossing and turning.Yesterday was rather fraught though in mostly a good way. Firstly, a couple of students withdrew from the English exam so I elected to come home. Did a small quick wash and got it out on the line. So far, so calm. First difficultly came when neither of my external portable drives, which I use to backup my laptop, would work. For a few minutes I had a severe attack of anxiety before trying a different USB port which worked. Phew! Then my nephew and I began texting to-ing and fro-ing about a show we both wanted to go to. I suggested Glasgow, too far for him. He suggested Birmingham, too far for me. We circled round Newcastle and Sheffield after which I 'decided' that as the show was only 100 minutes long we should not bother and simply go the the nearest venue separately. Suddenly, he suggested Belfast! So, after much fraughtness in getting an hotel we are all (four of them plus me) booked for the show and for the Titanic exhibition. Three nights away for me, EasyJet tickets for me (never flown with them before so a little anxious about that) and for them it's two nights away, a drive to Liverpool and one overnight ferry trip. So, eventually all sorted and the purse empty. The next fraughtness was because Belfast seemed mostly booked out and then the hotel which had space had a very complicated booking system. Couldn't put names in when booking, had to phone somewhere, not Belfast, and allocate rooms. Somehow I ended up in a twin by myself whilst one adult and child were in a double. That took two phone calls to sort out. And then I could breathe again.
All too exciting for a Tuesday.
Today will be calmer. Invigilating again, no idea what. The day is dull and cool, plenty of white and grey cloud out there. Lunch is ready to go in the oven and I shall chill out this afternoon. Well, that's the plan - my nephew has given me space on his server so I will sort that out to use as my laptop backup.I hope that all are well. I'm sure that some are gardening, some are working up to decorating, some are ankle deep in building and some are enjoying a rest away from everything. Hugs to all whatever you are doing.10 -
Morning folks. Another lazy day beckons but after my breakfast I must hose all the plants and pots or I'll be in DD's bad books! Yesterday morning I got.up to a thick frost, brr! But by 9.30.i was sat out on the decking in warm sunshine. And there I stayed all day, head in a book. Another one to start on today.
Have a good day folks if you can..CAMELOT I was sorry to read about your Auntie, I know she meant a lot to you. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning allAnother cool breezy day out there. Putting away some winter stuff and getting out some summer stuff today, notice i said 'some' as they're promising it will warm up a bit next week, not confident that it won't have to come out again at some point. Can't believe how cool and blustery it is for May. Some ironing to do later also.Apart from that a peaceful day on the cardsHave a good day all x11

Morning all - busy on here already
I’m in college most of the day though only two short exams then some admin to do.Had a good first night in the van - all seems good. Super walk on Brown Clee in the sunshine but with a cool wind. Managed to find some shelter to eat lunch and finish my book - my new ‘thing’ is taking my Kindle on walks - loving reading in the outdoors. I read Conclave which I enjoyed and obviously timely too.Best wishes to all the poorlies

Morning all
Looks to be a nice day the sun is shining but still that pesky wind, hopefully it will warm up a bit later. I have Rob coming today and we are off to the cafe which we both enjoy ( me more so now that I don’t work there 😂)
Dinner tonight will be meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta I will try and get the sauce made this morning to save me a job later, no washing to do today.
Yesterday we went walking in some local bluebell woods which were stunning, we were a bit late in the year as they were just starting to fade a bit but still lovely, we walked for 2 miles and then had lunch and then walked for a further 2 miles, when we got back to the car the two men got in and were asleep in minutes 😃 when they first came to me neither of them could walk very far so I am slowly building them up, they don’t get a lot of other exercise so I’m pleased they are getting some.
Gers easy jet are fine ( if a bit budget) but it will be a quick trip so you will be up and down before you know it xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning everyone Gers I wish I was as brave as you I couldn’t even trust myself to book anything online I would be stressed to death I’m not computer savvy at all the last time we went to Newcastle theatre I booked tickets online the nearer I got to the place my phone wouldn’t work they trying to come out in the street to try and zap it or whatever and then there thing wouldn’t work they had to let all the queue in past us and we had all the grandchildren with us I said never again im alright if things work but if anything goes wrong im stumped with this cruise holiday I’ve rang and spoken to someone and printed everything off and I’m still having nightmares about it and I’m definitely losing my confidence the older I get . AA it’s good that you are getting to enjoy your van it sounds lovely. I’m off out to a cleaning job as soon as I hang this washing out . Hubby got a text of the doctor yesterday he went the other week because he kept going dizzy they said his blood pressure was slightly high he didn’t believe them he had a machine at home for a week it was slightly high and they took some blood he said he doesn’t want to take tablets the blood tests have come back he is pre diabetic he has now decided they have stuck a pin in a page and got his name he has to make an appointment to see someone he’s not going because it’s apparently just the latest fashion to drag people in and he wonders why I ignore him I’ve give up . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all. Yesterday was so cold I put the heating back on. Today looks sunnier so far so possibly warmer.
I managed to get DH to donate most of our LPs to a charity shop yesterday. It's been on my mind for years, as they're just sitting in the garage but they've finally gone. I've kept the better ones for the children to fight over once we've gone; mainly my Deep Purple and Beatles ones! There are also some interesting singles in slip covers; early T Rex, Family, Byrds etc.
Today I'm off to help at the Larder then an early meal of salmon and roasted veg as I have to leave at 6pm to get to tonight's pub, in Oxfordshire. I'm playing for a different Morris side tonight, as their regular musician is on holiday, but I know a lot of the people anyway.
I hope everyone has a good day.11 -
Morning all and thanks @mehefin for the (early) start. Yesterday turned out to be much milder than I was expecting; today is supposed to be similar although maybe not quite as much sunshine.
The new net curtains I ordered have arrived, I'm very pleased with them. Good service too - they were ordered on Thursday and delivered via RM yesterday and that's with a BH between the two.
Today I'm going to finish off the undercoating - just the skirting boards to do. I'll be using the garden kneeler/seat - saves my knees and helps me get up; I think it get used more indoors than outside. The old joints are very creaky these days. And I'm beginning to get to the "why did I start this" stage but will plough on. That will keep me busy enough so there are no other plans for the day. Tea will be haddock fishcake, peas and a few oven chips - nice and easy.
@Gers - I hope the show in Belfast will be worth all the fraughtness!
@Chrisca - I'm the same with winter vs summer clothes hokey-cokey at the moment.
@Izzy - Oh dear, I hope your DH has a change of heart about an appointment.
Best wishes to all, whatever you are up to. Have a good day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6
