    Yes its the correct size and wattage/voltage.
    Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.

    Fluorescent tubes are now obsolete, and you won't find major retailers selling them any more.  You are stuck with places like ebay where people sell off old stock.
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Not a difficult DIY job or very simple for a handyman to do.
