Can a deed of variation be partial?

As title really, can deed of variation change
A as beneficiary
to
A as beneficiary except for property which goes to B.

or is it all or nothing?

    You can change individual bequests through a Deed of Variation but only if the person disadvantaged (in this case A) agrees.

    Seventh Anniversary 1,000 Posts Name Dropper
    I made a deed of variation, assigning 2/3 of my inheritance to my children, but retaining the other 1/3.  No problem.
