Best cost effective burglar alarms that install UK wide

Hi. My neighbours home was burglared yesterday. I had a basic alarm for years but its no good as I now have FTTP broadband and no phoneline so need a new modern alarm. Can anyone advise the best monthly fee monitored alarms? Ive heard that those that verbally challenge an intruder are best to limit their time in your home.

Why is it "no good now"? An installer could easily add a dialler that runs using a sim card.
Do you still have a monitoring subscription?
It could be that the thief chose your neighbour rather than you if you have a visible bell box. That's highly effective even if its not connected, especially if it has a national brand name on it.
