Admiral multi-cover

Bought a new vehicle last week and can the admiral service team and asked for a quote to change vehicles on my policy.
Received a quotation of £584 and went ahead and paid the premium to insure my car for the remainder of the policy.
Got a call back later that day and was informed that they had made a mistake and i need to pay an additional £253 on top of what i has already paid.
Was told that if i dont pay this additional cost then the car would be taken off cover and as its my daughters car and she was out in it at the time i felt like i had no option other than to pay .
Can they make me pay the additional £253 premium if it was there mistake ?
Just as a side note they actually took £1838 when i only gave them authority to take £253, I've made numerous calls to them about this but have been abandoned by them with no answer as to when i will be getting my money back.
This has left me with no money and now direct debits and standing orders are going unpaid

Did you point out to them that she was out and about at the time? Given it was their error it wouldnt have been reasonable for them to cancel it instantly but maybe at the end of the day... still not great but wouldnt have caused the instant problem.fred_turi said:Bought a new vehicle last week and can the admiral service team and asked for a quote to change vehicles on my policy.

Do a chargeback on the £1,838 as that wasnt the agreed sum. You will need to be proactive in paying the agreed sum else they may cancel for non-payment.1
