Good morning all, the sun is here again so the wm is on, I'll hang the washing out before we go to the caravan dealers for some bits and bobs. This afternoon I have a much needed haircut booked, I'm fed up of looking like a mop !
The gammon yesterday was so tender that it fell apart and we had to have lumps and not slices, but it was very tasty. As we'll be home late today we might have a chippy tea.
Camelot I'm sorry to read about your Aunt.
Suffolksue I hope the meds keep on working for you.
Hugs to anyone in need. Take care all.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
The house is chilly but I'm not putting the heating back on if I can help it! I have a friend visiting today for a coffee - and then I'll be applying another coat of paint for DD's ceiling. Hopefully that'll be it.
DH had fun camping and is in work today - doesn't usually work Tuesdays at the yard but they asked him to come in due to the BH Monday. I work on a Monday and have been deducted 7.5 hours annual leave for the BH - is that correct? I work 0.68 WTE and thought I'd get a proportion of BH's too? Need to check with HR as my annual leave will be seriously dented if that's the case.
Glad you had a good time with the family @remmie x
Condolences @camelot1001 x
Have a good day everyone,

Morning everyone
After a very chilly day it's forecast to be better today, with sunshine all day, hope it's right.
The shed man has just come, he has his son with him today ...he's planning on the summerhouse being finished tomorrow.
DD and little one came up briefly yesterday afternoon for a dressing for her knee - she'd come off her bike racing with one of the 'very big boys' who lives beside them - he's 9 ! I'll have to buy some replacements as it was my last one, I'll get some for their house too.
Other than that drama, it was a quiet day, I did manage to start sorting and shredding some paperwork while watching the VE day programme.
Remmie - is everything ok for your granddaughter at school now?
Condolences Camelot x
Best get some jobs done before work
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning all from a cold but sunny Mehefinland
That wind is wicked, and we even had a touch of frost in the sheltered part of the field last night.
Just back from the primary school - we had a 'fun day' over the weekend and there was lots of VE80 craft stuff left over, along with a flag and some bits and bobs so they all went to school for using up. I also found amongst the morrass here , original newspaper reviews - One of the year 1945 from The Times, and a second one of the year in pictures for 1950? Took them down too as an interesting resource. Will admit that the Times review was a little 'dry' to read.
Was going to drop of stuff at the charity clothes bin but it is full to bursting with about a dozen black bags dumped alongside it too. Will give them a ring later to come and empty it.
Preparing for council AGM and monthly meeting tonight so lots of email traffic today.
@silver-oldie thanks for the clarification re the sunflower lanyards. I had never come across them before - shows what a sheltered life I leadI will certainly know in the future. Incidentally I think it is a brilliant idea.
May spend some time in the garden if it warms up, or the wind drops a bit.
Hugs and spoons as always - keep smiling

I'm back - went to school to find that a couple of students had dropped out so I wasn't needed.
I'm happy with that as I still get paid and the day is mine. Before I went out I put a small wash on so that's on the line now.
@Coxy - you'd need to check your contract about bank holidays. It'd be very unfair if you lost annual leave for all the holidays which tend to be on Mondays. This morning I spied the first swallows of the year here sitting on the telephone wire outside my house. The sight of them fair cheered my spirit. Then I saw a field full of sheep and lambs galloping as fast as they could towards the farmer who had brought them a load of additional feed. Happy day already. Blurry photo from my seat!10 -
Morning all. The sun is back and it's looking much better than yesterday although I'm not sure if it feels any warmer - it certainly isn't at night or early mornings. I'll soon find out when I take the rubbish out before the bin men come tomorrow.
I didn't get much done at all on the decorating front yesterday and must make more of an effort today. In my defence though I did make a loaf of bread, scones and lemon cream desserts to use up the last bit of yogurt and coconut milk that was left over from the weekend's Thai curry. The first aid cabinet also had a sort through with a few bits of OTC stuff being binned; the only thing that needs replacing is a tube of antiseptic cream. Tea tonight is an omelette with side salad and oven chips.
@camelot - Condolences on your loss.
Must get on before the day runs away with itself so I'll wish you all a good day, hugs where needed. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Good Morning
Camelot - condolences on the loss of your Aunt.
Very cloudy & quite cold here today. Managed to put a couple of listings on Etsy yesterday. Need to get rid of stuff I’ve been given. Must list a couple of items on other sites too.
Dinner tonight will be a risotto of some kind.
Hoping to walk the dog at some point soon.
On Friday taking DS1 para surfing in Bournemouth. It’s an event run by UK coaches so hopefully will be good for him.
Enjoy the rest of your day.10 -
@Coxy11 definitely check with HR - I worked 0.9 wte with alternate Fridays off, and never quite got to grips with the entitlement and deductions for leave.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good evening - late one from me.We called at DB1s last night to borrow something, and they asked if I'd like to go for a walk over the moors today.Yes please! It's been a lovely day but chilly.DH didn't feel ready for a trek so met us on the car park where they have a coffee and cake truck. We sat chatting for ages before we came home when I folded the clean washing etc then sat out for a while.Camelot, I'm very sorry to hear about your Aunt. Some football to watch on tv tonight.Take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
