Hi, I have a four year old Fusion 5 windows 10 tablet which has worked fine until recently, but is now unuseable because the start menu constantly opens and closes, it starts off slow and then rapidly opens/close so it's impossible to use. I have searched online for solutions but can't seem to find my exact issue and I have reset it twice. Please can anyone suggest a cause/solution? I don't use any mouse or external keyboard. Thank you.

You could try a force restart which involves holding down the power button for 30 seconds.1

Have you run a windows repair? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1

Just to state the obvious, it’s worth cleaning the screen and removing the case if you have one.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I just checked and the recovery is what I've previously done, including two resets. No cover used.

Yes, just tested and it does it in portrait as well. I've also run scans and malwares.0

You could have an obscure hardware error, but more likely there’s a problem with the windows software. There are various repair tools built in, and you can Google how to run them. Alternatively, now might be a good time to scrub everything off the machine and reinstall windows from a usb stick. If the machine is compatible with windows 11, I’d recommend a clean install of that.No reliance should be placed on the above! Virus/repairs/malaware scans. I don't think it is compatible for windows 11, I have looked for that in the security page. Thanks to all for your suggestions.0
