Morning all from a chilly Yorkshire. What a shock to the system after the nice weather.
It's been generally sunny with a few light showers but the wind is making it feel really cold. I gave in last night and put the heating on for an hour and have had it on again for a wee while this morning.
Over the weekend DS and I made a start on the decorating. It's slow going as I have to pace myself nowadays and his time is limited by having to fit it in around work. I've insisted he and his good lady have today to themselves and, if I'm honest, I could do with a rest too. I'm taking the view that it's getting done in bite-size pieces and we'll get to the end - eventually.
I've nothing definite planned for today although there are a few fiddly but not urgent tasks that need doing. I'll crack on with a couple of those if I can summon up the energy and/or enthusiasm. If not, I'll be in full sloth mode!
@WL - Happy birthday to your DD.
Enjoy whatever you have planned for today, take care, hugs where needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Hello all, DGS mowed the lawns on Saturday but I think it's growing already ! Not much happened yesterday except I did a lot of slothing and sleeping.
The new carpet washer arrived yesterday so we'll try it today on the dining room carpet, hope it's as good as it says on the tin. I have the lovely job of breaking up the box ready to go out tomorrow for the bin men, along with the green waste bins.
I've got a small gammon joint in the slow cooker so we'll have that for tea and there'll be some leftover for sandwiches. We're going to be watching the celebrations too so I hope the weather is kind to anyone having outdoor celebrations, it's certainly cooler here but it's dry with a blustery wind.
Scarlet what lovely news.
Rosy hope you can find that paperwork.
Wicked Lady happy birthday to your DD.
Have a good day all.
nan xx

Morning all
Dry here for now but some rain due later it’s also much cooler than it has been we ate in the garden last night but didn’t linger as it was just too chilly.
I have the shopping to do today so need to do a meal plan and list shortly and I still have some plants to get in so will do that today.
Dinner will probably be a bbq we have some salads left over from yesterday so it will use them up I have some jersey royals to use as well which are so tasty just boiled with butter.
Scarlett what lovely news xx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Good morning
I have been reading along. Still off work with my shoulder but it’s getting easier as time goes on. It has been hard going being with DS2 24/7. He is getting down again but he’s still not able to go back to full time work. We have had a talk through to try and get him to see that his moods also affect me. The last couple of days have been better.
I have some seedlings now growing which after help getting the pots filled I planted. I can manage to water them with my left arm for now.
Dinner tonight is chicken - will possibly do a mushroom sauce to go with it.
Was hoping to sit in the garden but it’s chilly today. Will go out later to watch the Red Arrows fly past on their way into London as we are on the flyover route.
Enjoy your day. Take care.8 -
Hi everyone,
I'm taking a break from packing up the house to go home. It's been lovely up here but definitely chilly today.
WL, we watched some local children dancing around the maypole this weekend, most of the boys were in traditional Morris costumes. It brought back a lot of memories of Laura and Chris maypole dancing at school.
Scarlet, how lovely for you.
Have a good day.6
