Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's wet here, not raining at the moment but will probably start again.
Yesterday was cold, a North wind fit to cut you in half.
We had some great news yesterday, our Australian family is visiting in July! We knew it was on the cards but didn't know when.
Nothing planned for today.
Hope everyone has a good day today.
Take care folks.

Morning allCold and rainy here. Rain not meant to last too long though. Skip is filling up nicely, No plans for today but will watch the VE celebrations on tv. Not sure what to have for dinner yet, I'll go and have a rummage later.I might even have to put the heating on later as it really feels cold and it's very windy here again today. Typical Bank Holiday weather really.Have a good day all x12

The sun is shining, the sky is blue and that rotten nippy wind is still in the mix. Last night I was so cold I had the electric blanket on again until I thawed out.Yesterday was a write-off. Full sloth mode! Today I will do better - at least I have my exercise class to get me out of the house. There's weekly banking to do and then I shall plan more. I'm recording the VE programme so am looking forward to watching that.@Scarlet - what a lovely surprise for you.
Great skip filling @Crisca, I bet it feels great to get rid of so much 'stuff'.
I hope that everyone has a good day, whether planting, digging, painting, decluttering or even slothing. Hugs to all.8 -
Hi all
Enjoy your Bank Holiday to those that get it.Yesterday was a full on lawn, hedge, wood sanding, walk, painting, cleaning type of day followed by a delicious lamb tagine. The sun is out today but that wind is cold. Off for a new campervan adventure - albeit only one night and only 30 minutes away - just to test everything out and will likely end up reorganising a load of cupboards etc.
There’ll be some walks involved too
have a good day all

Morning all.
The sun's shining but there's that cold wind and we're off for a picnic! It's DD's 40th birthday and this was her choiceI'm just cooking the sausage rolls and will then cut up the strawberries.
Watched the snooker yesterday, which was fascinating. Think I've guessed the winner.
Back to normal tomorrow; quite enough Bank Holidays for the time being!
Best wishes to all.11 -
Morning all - brrr it’s chilly today. Determined that the heating will stay off!
We are off to SIL’s for a BBQ later so I’m hoping the weather brightens up. First I will paint another coat on DD’s bedroom ceiling. Yesterday I did ceiling, coving and walls with a wash coat. I looked like a plasterers radio when I’d finished. Absolutely awful job but needs must.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings12 -
Morning folks. A quickie from the caravan. Two lovely days then yesterday it was all change. Blooming heck it was cold. Today still cold but at least there is a bit of sun coming and going! Tomorrow allegedly it will be warmer!
All quiet down here in our happy place, just me, the birds and the wildlife. No livestock in the big field either, most unusual. Doing lots of reading, snooker watching and being generally slothful. Have a good day all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning All
Seems much colder this morning and the sun is hiding although it is dry and bright.
Great news Scarlet!
Nice day yesterday although the Barras was a let down, didn't seem to be any atmosphere and wasn't very busy but there was a big football match on in Glasgow so maybe that had something to do with it. We went to the Provand's Lordship which was very good and a quick trip to Costco where I got a Christmas present for someone!
Shopping this morning then meeting DD and the little one at the park, she seems to be feeling better and is eating normally now. They will come here for lunch.
Have a good day, hope everyone's well. Take care. XX12 -
Good morning from sunny but cold Mehefinland
had my 5yr old friend and his parents for lunch yesterday - thought it was time I repaid some hospitality. The venison joint that had been languishing in the freezer finally got used. In the Rayburn at 7am and was just right for lunch. The Rayburn was a Godsend as it is so good at slow cooking. Loads left of course, so the next quandry is what to do with it all. I had the smallest joint when I got it back in November, and hadn't really realised it was so big (1.5kg) until got it our to defrost. Expect I will portion it up and freeze meal sized bits. It was nice to have a young person in the house - I got him picking up all the cones which cascade from the big pine tree all over the garden. He had a grand time, especially when they were falling off and 'bombing' him. Took a whole carrier bag home , some for him and a load for school on Tuesday.
Was gifted some pumpkin plants and a multi-flowered sunflower. The pumpkins were grown from some of last years crop - they are going up to the muckheap again later. The sunflower can go in the front garden.
Went to a family 'fun day' at a local community centre on Saturday and a little girl was wearing a sunflower lanyard. I didn't know that it was to indicate that she was autistic. I thought it strange( well perhaps not strange but I can't find the words) how the sunflower is being used for so many different things now, as I always associated it with 'Calender Girls' and cancer. It doesn't really matter as the lanyard did its job and prompted the question.
Another poo collection later - hopefully this time they bring a decent trailer, as the last one's wheel collapsed after they left the field. Much consternation, but it got sorted.
Hugs and spoons as always, enjoy the Bank Holiday if you can/want. Just wonder if they will make as much fuss for VJ day which was really the end of the war?

Morning everyone
Chilly here this morning, 15 degrees on the thermostat, but I'm trying not to put the heating on - hopefully the sun will come out later and warm the house up a bit.
I had a very lazy afternoon yesterday and plan to do the same again today. I'll get some jobs done this morning.
The shed man is coming to start building the summer house today and hope to have it finished by Wednesday night, I was surprised he was working on a bank holiday.
Eldest DD has been to Stockholm visiting friends for the weekend - the bank holiday in Germany was on Friday and they always get the Thursday off too. No doubt she'll be on the phone later as she has a wait in Berlin before she gets the train home.
Good news Scarlet x
Hope everyone has a good day and it warms up a bit for the picnics! x
