Hi
I've recently changed my phone number at PayPal, and later the same day tried to update my email address too but put the wrong password in and it (understandably) locked me out.
I tried the 'forgotten password' route and was able to change the password. However when I tried to log in, it said some of the details were wrong, and it said to contact them.
I cannot message them without logging in.
If I contact them 'as a guest' it shows:
Call PayPal Customer Service +44-0203-901-7000
Freephone number available from a local landline only 0800 358 7911
If you are calling from outside the UK +44-203-901-7000
Checking this on Google earlier it showed conflicting results - either a scam or legit number, so I checked some threads on here and one said:
If you have any questions, contact our UK customer support team on 020 8080 6500* or 0800 358 9448* from a landline only or visit the PayPal Here community support page.
So, basically I am asking if 020 8080 6500 OR 0203 901 7000 is the correct number?
And, has anyone actually managed to talk to a real person at PayPal or been sent round in circles?
Thanks

Businesses with a freephone number have to pay a per-minute call origination fee to the caller's phone provider. This fee is usually a higher rate for calls originating from a mobile phone than from a landline.
0800 358 7911 is the right number for PayPal but they decline to pay the higher rate for mobile-originated calls and direct those callers to either call the 0800 number from a landline or call 020 3901 7000 from a mobile.1 -
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Many thanks to you both for your responses.Thank you for the information @movedto03- I wasn't aware of that.I rang them on the 0203 9017000 number as suggested by @Muskey.An automated reply asks for your phone number and the reason for calling. It then asks for the last 4 digits of your bank account - say 'I don't have it'
You will then be put through to an AdvisorHTH
