Hello again, I said it was fine earlier, it's now cloudy.
One of our dgs's is coming over with his girlfriend for lunch today, which will be nice, as we haven't seen them for a while.
That's the main event today. I think I'll go to the freezer shop in our High street to buy an extra dessert, a cheesecake or similar. I'm making an apple sponge with custard or cream, but I thought something extra would be good.
I hope everyone else has as good a day as possible, take care folks.10 -
Morning allA bit cloudy this morning but will make the most of the reasonable weather today before all change tomorrow.A bit of baking this morning and then we've got a skip to fill up with bits from the old bathroom and a very full garage to sort out. We hired a skip about 6 years ago and had a clear out and now DH has filled it up again with 'it might come in handy' junk. Drives me insane. Hopefully it will look a bit tidier after the long weekend. I can only hope!Have a good day all x7

Morning everyone Chirsca I think you might be married to my hubby I was determined to clamp down on his it might come in handy junk when we moved into this house four years ago after having years of clearing out in the other house it’s a full time job keeping an eye on him I’m another that it drives insane he can’t understand me when I say I feel much lighter when things leave the house . It’s bright but chilly here I need to get a bit of shopping in and a girl at the charity shop gave me some rhubarb yesterday so I am going to make a crumble the kitchen needs a good clean but otherwise not a lot planned other than a dog walk not that she can go as far now . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Hi
Looking forward to two days of not having to dash out in a morning. The election count yesterday was very quick and smooth - I have no interest in politics but do find the process very interesting.I’ve as huge list of things to do but the priority is cleaning the inside of the conservatory including the inside of the ‘roof’ and scrubbing the tiled floor. It’ll be first in the list before it gets warm in there though it is noticeably cooler.Hope those with a BH enjoy the long weekend

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I agreed to collect DS2 from the station last night as it’s a c.2 mile walk and no taxi rank. He messaged to say 12:20am(!) so I spent the evening channel hopping snd watching YT. Also scored some freebies from O!io from a property a stones throw from the station. Unfortunately I had to go before midnight as they were BB dates - got 2 x fruit loaf, hasselback potatoes in rosemary, Mediterranean veg and a cous cous salad pot. Will make soup with the veg and freeze the fruit loaf although have just had some toasted for breakfast.Lunch with friends later back in our old town. It’s a bring and share so will pop to the shop en route and buy some non-alcoholic fizz for me.We didn’t get to vote in the end as the council failed to get back to me. Must sort that for next time.Have a good day alll

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy your visitors.
Bright and sunny this morning, not a cloud in the sky. Bedding on the line and another load in the WM, should dry well today.
Went to an awards ceremony on Thursday for my 25 years service, sandwiches, cake and a cup of tea. Would have been ok if we could hear the Chief Exec properly - there was an echo on his microphone. As it finished after an hour or so I snuck off home, planted some veggies at the allotment and went to buy some plants - I'm feeling like you Ruby!
Yesterday was a busy day at work but I have Monday off and Tuesday is an in-service day so won't be too bad next week.
I had an appointment with a Solicitor yesterday to put a new will and POA in place, will have to go back to sign in a couple of weeks. Thanks Gers, feel better for getting that sorted.
Hope you all have a good weekend and the weather is kind, take care. XX

Morning all.
The breakfast / dining room was stuffed full of two coach loads of touring Americans so it was rather noisy. Then the couple next to me began talking and we had a really lovely conversation. He was part of a group of livery masters on a three day visit. He was from the Upholders (upholstery) so very interesting. We discussed our way round architecture, textiles and design. It was a wonderful start of my day.Ellie Taylor was funny though she screeched a lot which meant I missed a lot, can't hear those high pitched shrieks. She had some sharp observations about life. One women had a long laughing fit which set everyone else off too.Now I'm resting 😀 ready for my coach home just before noon. @Camelot - what a great thing from the cooncil! And you've made me happy.I hope that everyone has a good day. Hugs to our poorlies.9 -
Morning all, it's another dry and sunny day but a bit cooler.
I decided to make a victoria sponge yesterday but had a senior moment when I couldn't put the food processor together ! I normally just mix by hand but my hands are so bad these days I thought I'd try it and eventually I got it together, just don't sign me up for the Krypton factor ! I had to throw out the flour though as it had weevils but I opened another bag which was ok.
I finally found a new cooker on line too so that's ordered, plus a new carpet cleaner as my old one doesn't do the stairs. My purse is now very empty 😭
Today DGS is coming to mow the lawns for us. We'll give him some pocket money and free food for the day as a reward, he's already ordered his breakfast 😂
Camelot congrats on the 25 years.
Gers safe journey home.
Have a good day everyone, look after yourselves.

Hi everyone,
We've come up to Yorkshire for the weekend but I'm feeling pretty tired after a hectic week. Both kids napped a lot of the way so we're up super late
I travelled with Laura and the children because Brian has gone to Lisbon with his dad and brothers for his dad's 70th. Talking of B, he was in Istanbul for three days and got back on Tuesday. Wednesday he was supposed to be getting Esben ready for school (Esther was still asleep) and didn't manage it in time. He complained to Laura that he'd had to do it by himself, she was not impressed. I've completely stepped back from helping with the morning routine on principle.
We had Nate on Thursday, someone had given him some Tractor Ted books so we read them several times. I pointed to a machine and said "Is that a cultivator" "No it's a pea harvester" was the answer. Of course, how am I so ignorant.
Anyway, I'd better go, we're off to the Nettle in Settle for brunch, it's owned by friends of Laura so we want to check it out.
Have a good day.10 -
