CCJ advise

Hello. A local business refused to refund my money after they failed to provide an agreed service. I contacted the small claims court, the seller didn’t respond so now has been issued a CCJ.  I believe as they didn’t respond mitigation isn’t an option and the bailiff is the next step.  I am only owned £300 and it feels like quite an extreme step, but equally I’m owed my money. Does anyone had any advise on if or how I should approach this such as is it worth it, should I have any concerns about retaliation, if I do proceed is it best practice to let them know in advance (the owner has not been aggressive, but doesnt believe I am owed my money).  I spoke to citizens advise and they were not overly helpful.
Thank you

You can use the court bailiff but not High Court as there is a minimum of £600.

There are other ways of enforcing a ccj but these may not be appropriate against a business.

I'm afraid the chance of getting someone from the CAB who is able to give better advice than the average forum user is now pretty small
