Delete if political but I saw this and thought it was good news to share
"The maximum amount that can be taken from someone’s universal credit standard allowance payment to repay these debts has been set at 25%, meaning the government can take up to a quarter of your payment
Now, from 1 May, this rate has been reduced to 15%.
In short, if you owe the government or any other companies listed money and those payments have been coming out of your account, you'll now repay a lot less of that debt at once."

I think there’s going to be some quite big ramifications from this - usually if the previous deduction rate was “just” keeping the wolf from the door, so to speak.0

Yes, it could impact on new budgeting advances being available, as the new cap will mean there is less scope for additional debt repayment liability to be created. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
