6.4 Bays reserved for disabled drivers should be used by disabled drivers only, and vehicles parked in such bays must display appropriate disabled badges/windscreen stickers.
... bit of course i read all this beforehand prior to booking. T&Cs are unlikely to cover all possible situations and here such as mine where i displayed the photocopy, it was on the dash when i left, and there's no T&C or contractual obligation that precludes opening windows ajar to prevent overheating or where a badge is dislodged.. and in any event it was actually on the seat and could be seen albeit perhaps not though the windscreen. This is all subjective and circumstantial...I am seeking guidance of infeed there is any.... All of the above is precisely why i came here for advice, views, and any suggesttion from members who may have themselves been in comparative situations.
T&Cs from websites that customers , and indeed I , would have read prior to parking, isn't really too much help other than to clarify that which is already known 😁 The case i make here is because naturally the " "contract" is literal 🙏
Im 58 and old enough to fully anticipate that VCS won't give a hoot , they just want the money
I have emailed LJL parking head office so will see what they sayI did not point to their on line terms and conditions for any other reason but to help by showing that the operator was VCS as for some reason you could not read that from the NTK.You have now admitted that you had a paper photocopy on the dash (no wonder it blew off) of the Blue Badge which isn't accepted by authorities let alone a two bit parking company. You could get this charge reduced to £20 if you supply them evidence of the blue badge after the event, that is in the joint COP, they don't tell you that, maybe sounds daft in relation to the last paragraph but there you go.Or you can go into ignore mode as suggested and face all their barrage of rubbish letters / debt collector scap paper etc.Hopefuly LJL will come up trumps but knowing them I am sure they will just refer you back to VCS.5 -
Thank you for that helpful advice 🤙
Yes, Im suee the money merrygoround will not let me off and the "admin" team will just not give a hoot and refer me to VCS.
Can you elaborate on this £20 reduced COP ?? not aware of this and how to invoke/request ... if needed.0 -
Go to the IPC or BPA website and download the current joint code of practice ( CoP ) , have a read of the relevant section
VCS never cancel these invoices, so unless LJLA get it cancelled, then you are on the same hamster wheel as the thousands of other VCS victims at numerous airports, like LJLA and Bristol etc
Most cases are involving the roadways and stopping, not the onsite car parks, but there seems little difference here, circumstances may differ, but the demand for money due to the alleged breach of the rules is typical
Its currently an unregulated industry, so dont expect fairness or common sense3 -

Page 47 of 57THE SINGLE CODE OF PRACTICEF.3 Appeals where the charge should be reduced to £20 for a period of
14 dayse) where a Blue Badge has not been displayed but the holder of the Blue Badge supplies a
copy of the Blue Badge they hold, that would have been valid at the time and in the
circumstances identified in the notice i.e. that the holder was in the vehicle whether or not
as the driver; (This does not include where a motorist has not paid the tariff for parking if
required.)

Let's see if VCS offer the £20 reduction, they don't usually do this for "major keying errors".
I usually try and trap the PPC by providing the necessary evidence but without mentioning the CoP requirement because if they don't offer to cancel for £20 then they're in breach of the code which is something else to bash them with at court stage.Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'6 -
