Euro Parking - PCN not received, Letter before Claim from Gladstones

Hello All,

I received a Letter Before Claim from Gladstones Solicitors dated 21/05/2025 regarding a PCN issued by Euro Parking Services (date of charge 04/08/2024 apparently).

I have received no PCN letters at all, this is the first I have heard of it. I am the keeper of the car but honestly cannot remember driving to this location and I can't even find a car park by this name on a google search. (If it was a store's car park I would have contacted them to get the PCN cancelled as the first point of call as advised on the Newbies thread but like I said nothing comes up for that location. May have been my partner driving but it is so long ago that we can't remember.)

Just to clarify we have been at this address since 2018 and owned this car since 2023, so I'm not sure why the PCN wasn't received.

I know the email reply to Gladstones re: Letter before Claim from Newbies post no 2 but do I need to add that I didn't receive a PCN or contact Euro Parking about not receiving a PCN? Or something about a Subject Access Request?

Thanks a lot for reading

Is the car park in the vicinity of an area you may have been in?

There have been cases of letters being sent to people with similar names or registrations...

You should of course get the SAR sent so you can see what you are dealing with.

Where is the car park that they are saying this refers to?

    Thanks for your quick response!

It's named as Rookery Road Car Park in the letter. When I search Rookery Road it comes up in Handsworth, Birmingham and I don't generally drive to that area but if there was a shop nearby then perhaps I did.

Funny thing is my brother received a text message from Gladstones:
Due: £160 You have not responded to our Pre-Action letter. Please Visit XXX or Call 01565 755088 to avoid court action. Quote Ref: XXXX
He does have a similar name to me
:D but not sure if that is relevant as the vehicle registration is correct.

Who should I send the SAR to please? If there was a template that would be great, thanks.

Also, do I send the SAR first or the template reply to Letter before Claim?
    Thank you

Normally you respond to the letter of claim using the response template

Maybe you should add that the claim is not recognised and you believe that it's a case of mistaken identity

We dont recommend doing a SAR until halfway through any court claim,  usually after the claim is transferred to your local civil court

    DO NOT send a SAR.

Just read the SECOND post of the NEWBIES thread (we will not link it; see my signature for how to hop there in a nanosecond).

Read the SECOND POST OF IT ONLY.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Thanks for the help offered.

I emailed the reply to LCB template from post #2 of the newbies thread. This is the response I received:

    Dear XXXXXX,

Further to your email dated 1st May 2025.

As this is a generic template readily available on the internet, it is not our intention to reply substantively to the content.

In accordance with our Letter Before Claim, payment is required on or before the 21st May 2025 to avoid further action.

Please make payment to the bank account details below quoting XXXXXXX.

Gladstones Solicitors Ltd     Barclays Bank          Account Number: XXXXX       Sort Code: XXXXX

Failure to make payment will result in the issue of legal proceedings without further recourse to you. Should it become necessary to issue legal proceedings, we recommend you follow the steps on the claim form upon receipt of the same.

Without wishing to be discourteous, we will not accept any further submissions from you.

    Kind regards

Is this as expected, they have dismissed the questions and not confirmed my current address?
Good news is that I may have found the car park using street view, it's a restaurant's car park. I'm trying to get in touch with the landowner.
Would really appreciate your opinions on this, thank you.
