I don't see why that would make it difficult to open a current account, as long as her ID can be verified electronically opening a current account online requires no interaction with anyone.  Things like being registered to vote will help in that regard too. Even if a bank requires extra information or ID surely it's better to sort this out now, together, and establish an electronic footprint for your daughter going forward.

I didn't realise you could open an account online without interaction. I've only ever opened one at the branch.

If it requires her appearing on camera to compare her face to her ID, then that would also be a stumbling block.

Could you apply for an online passport when she reaches 18, and they would just do an email verification? You could do a photo using a phone and app that' would help the ID for online banking. Does she have an email account.
