Alliance & Leicester eSaver

Hi all,
I am emmegrating for at least a couple of years, and we will have a bit of money from our house sale which we would like to keep in the UK, but every now and again probably dip into.
We have been looking at the Alliance and Leicester eSavers account. It sounds easy enough, we probably wouldn't take money out more than twice a year, so it isn't too much of a problem having the no interest in months money withdrawn.
We would want to nominate a non alliance and leicester account to be able to move our money into, is that a problem?
Anyone had any problems with this account?
Thanks very much

Also, does anyone know the limit of money you can transfer out per day? I suppose if I have mucked up a month of interest I could just do it over a few days, but that would be a pain.0

Why not put it in ICICI Bank where you can get 6.41% withraw what you want, when you want and the interest is added monthly?
You could get 6.85% if you put some of it into one of their yearly bonds.0 -
Well that depends on your capital. If it's significant, then the interest lost may mean your money is better deposited elsewhere.cherry_blossom wrote: »we probably wouldn't take money out more than twice a year, so it isn't too much of a problem having the no interest in months money withdrawn.
No (and this question is answered in the T&C's...have you read up on the account?).We would want to nominate a non alliance and leicester account to be able to move our money into, is that a problem?
I seem to recall it's £25,000 per day (more if registered for telephone banking where additional security checks are undertaken). However, why not ring A&L (08000 688638 and navigate to 'savings') and ask them directly?does anyone know the limit of money you can transfer out per day?0 -
Thanks very much for that phone number. I have read the t and c, along with a fair few others, it gets quite confusing.
The A and L eSaver is advertised at 6.5% with free withdrawl in July, and I have had a mortgage with A and L, so have got used to their layout etc.
£25,000 per day would be plenty.
Thanks again0
