Wills - Cheap Deals or Solicitor?

I've been in touch with a few solicitors who are offering to prepare a simple will for anything from £20 to £65. I'm single (divorced), a home owner, two adult children who will inherit everything I have and one will be my executor...............what can possibly go wrong?
I've already drafted the will but am inclined to give my draft to one of the solicitors - who should be able to provide witnesses to signatures and any other formalities required. Should I feel confident in asking one of these solicitors - or should I go to the one who has quoted me £800 plus?

I doubt whether any solicitor will draft you a will for £20-60.What could go wrong - well both your children could predecease you, what then? Why only one executor, better to appoint two or one plus a back-up.0

In the pandemic I paid ~£200 for a fairly simple will with a firm of solicitors (in London). I would however spend the money on a solicitor, rather than a will writer. £800 is high, you should be able to find a solicitor to sort it out for a couple of hundred.

I suspect anyone quoting yoy 60 pounds to write a will is not a solicitor. My advice is always to use a solicitor and you could actually get this done for free if you could find a solicitors firm who will provide wills for free for a charity. I say free as most will ask you to leave a legacy for the charity or make a donation. This would be cheaper than paying a solicitor to provide you a simple will. If you cant id expect you to be looking to pay around 200 to 300 pounds depending on how the will is to be formulated.

Get a free will through a charity. They each have a list of solicitors who work for them. It actually IS FREE they ASK you if you would like to make a donation or leave a bequest but it's not obligatory. I had mine updated this way with the same solicitor I had paid to do my previous will
DO NOT use any online will writers, they don't know what they are talking about1 -
