Existing Government Gateway for Universal Credit ID

As I understand it, if you have an existing Gov Gateway account, confirming your ID online is meant to speed up the process.
So is it just a case of signing into the gateway account, or is any additional information added to the HMRC gateway?
Maybe someone on here who has previously completed this process can confirm this.
Thanks!!

Doesn't look like this confirmation is used often, I'm surprised.0

I was reading only this week on another platform that someone claimed he used it in January. I can still access mine even though I haven't needed it in years. But opening your link, I noticed another omitted item on opening up recent edits.
The P60s has been removed then added not sure about the P60 or P60U though it's unstated as below 👇

- AI OverviewLearn moreThe Government Gateway is no longer used for Universal Credit applications. Claimants now verify their identity online using GOV.UK Verify. While some individuals who have previously used Government Gateway to access their Personal Tax Accounts may be able to use those credentials for the initial claim, GOV.UK Verify is the primary verification method. Here's a breakdown:
- Government Gateway:Previously used for accessing various government services, including some aspects of Universal Credit.
- GOV.UK Verify:The current method for verifying identity when applying for Universal Credit online.
- How to apply:Applicants need to create an account and make a claim online, then use GOV.UK Verify to confirm their identity.

Yes, I used Gemini. Why someone doesn't get employed to remove outdated information, especially if it's misleading, is madness really.
I will do a vlog on this process if it's an easy process and the current method online.0 -
AI overview - of any kind - is never reliable. Even when it links sources, you have to check each one to make sure that a) what it says is in there and b) that it's not taken out of context if it is in there. AI overview has been known to invent sources and cite irrelevant documents, and unfortunately most of the people who need to feedback that it's wrong don't know it's wrong in the first place in order to do that.
And when using an application like ChatGPT (I don't know if Gemini is the same type of thing?) they are not search engines, they are Large Language Models designed to sound as close to natural language as possible, NOT designed for accuracy. Their usage is more supposed to be, input facts/information you already know and ask it to put those facts together in a certain language style. They are not designed to find information, they just retrieve things from their database related to the input. So when they do 'find information' there is no evaluation of accuracy, just whether the output 'sounds good' (aligns with natural language).TimeLord1 said:Yes, I used Gemini. Thinking about it now, the longer people are using the search engine or platform, the more it pays the provider, so in theory, why make it easy when your revenue will decrease.
