is it weird that i can't wait to see what's left in my bank at the end of the month so that i can put it in my morgage??

No i am the same Kezza off to B&Q later and the same time thinking lets not overdo the paint etc because the cash that is over is coming off the mortgage. It is a greatfeeling to be paying off so much each month.

Our mortgage should complete next Tuesday meaning we'll have a mortgage of 207000 (sorry pound sign doesn't work!). My aim for this year is to get the mortgage sub 200k! We're doing an extension so some money will be offset while we're waiting to pay builders and we've already set up the direct debit to overpay by 70 a month.

Welcome howskint, I'm sure bellsbells will be along soon to add you to the list. I'll warn you though it becomes addictive!
  • Hi all,

This is my first post on the site, after reading these threads for months and being inspired by everybody and the great dedication and encouagement you all give each other. So, I've just plucked up enough courage to write my first message and if I'm doing this all the wrong way, please let me apologise straight away!

I would love to join this group if it's not too late - I think an overpayment target of £1500 for the remainder of the year would be a realistic target for us at the moment . If I could start for March with a £150 target per month, I've then got a weeks headstart for next month and hopefully will get a boost from my first month's sucess!!

    Looking forward to it already

  • We bought a house beginning of this year and are v keen to get overpaying whenever we can. Can overpay by a max of £500 a month for the first 3 years so am aiming to get as close to that as possible. Due to some technical difficulties (don't even get me started on Barclays  ) we missed January's payment but paid £500 in feb :T .

Hi, many thanks to Di-Dough and Salty69 for your kind welcomes to the list- I can see I'm going to become addicted to this site already!!

P.S. The Freaky-Di nick-name came about many years ago due to the rather wild nature of my 'freaky' curly hair!!!! Unfortunately, the name has stuck!

Thanks again to you both, I feel part of the group already
