Hmmm....gutted. Got the statement through today...my updated totals are on my signature. I was hoping we'd paid off more. Still, we cant really afford to up the payments right now so I guess I'll just have to be happy with that.
Currently another 16 years to go! Hmmm....Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%

Woo, interest rates have been cut again,:j that can only be good news for all us MFWs!
My lender (Halifax) have already said that they will pass on the rate cut to customers, as have Nationwide, Abbey, Natwest, Royal Bank of Scotland, and many others.
Looking forward to getting my letter from Halifax with my new monthly payment on, so I can see the effect my overpayments have had!MFiT-T5 #52 - aiming to clear mortgage completelyJanuary 2019: £19620 ~ November 2021: £0.00!0 -
that is great news i'm happy for all you people that it will have a positive effect on....i'm still plugging away at my mortgage not as much this month as last month as hubby wont get as good a wage in but every little bit i can spare except the stupid £50 candles (there's a confession right there) but i think that has been a sore lesson learned0
-
Can you not take the candles back for a refund?0
-
you know i should i really should but i'm thinking if i keep them they will eat away at me and shame me into not spending again (this is kinda dreaming i spose) the visa has not left the envelope since which is a good thing (well for me it is) i have lifted this weeks budget out and banked all my pennies i am more determined than ever now0
-
Take a photo of them and put it on your wall/fridge to remind and shame you. Then get your £50 refunded and take a photo of that too. Put it next to the photo of the candles and pay the £50 off your mortgage!
That way you'll have both the shame and joy (plus a further reduction of your mortgage):T0 -
ohhh your smart never thought of that one ....i wonder will they take them back without a reciept i will return them tomorrow then0
