Month 7 of my overpayments, still keeping the momentum going but its hard going at the moment..

    July overpayment sent for £410:j

Off on holiday next week but spends are all saved for and I will only use my debit card in case of emergency.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

    Hi guys

I have been reviewing my finances again and have decided that I am going to up my target for the year since I've been able to put a bit more in than expected. So my new goal will be £3,500 for the year. This is just over 1% of the outstanding mortgage debt. I've already managed to do £1835 and have upped my regular monthly payment to £280 so this leaves me £265 to find between now and end of December. I have managed to put a bit into savings so fingers crossed.

This is if my car isn't dead though - long story but I should know more next week :(

Hello everybody on the MFW quest :hello:

Please may I be added to the list?

I've just (this morning) started my own thread / diary, my mortgage currently stands at about £122k (or at least it will by 31st July) so I'd like to set my target at op'ing £2k by the 31st Dec...

Nothing to report for July as I'm just sorting out a new remortgage/consolidation deal which will kick off on the 1st Aug (although I did ask for more than I needed so I immediately paid £500 back! :o )

Not really expecting Aug OP to be great either as my 1st payment on the remortgage will be higher than usual... but I'll try and bung something at it to make myself feel better!

    Bye for now

    welcome to the challenge moo!

Hiya I have totalled up all our outstanding owings including the mortgage and I would like to join this challenge!!

Our current mortgage with everything added in is £197,000 paying it interest only temporarily. We have the facility for overpayments without penalty up to 10% with the Shabby!

I would like to end the year owing only £194000, so would like to add to my signature an overpayment of £3000.

    Many thanks indeed!!

    welcome nellis!

spl one member of the forum took a photo of their house and blacked it out when ever they pay a certain amount off their mortgage a part of the black and white photo gets rubbed off and a part of the house is revealed a very smart and personal idea one that i think would really help me but i just dont have a clue on how to do it hope that helps

I did that when I was saving for a horse.

If you haven't got photo-editing software to alter a pic and print it off after altering it you could draw the house by tracing over a photo, shade it in lightly with ordinary soft pencil and use a rubber.
