Trying to arrange Holiday Insurance annual policy and I need to try and get an answer to the following question because it makes a big difference to the premium.
i take two tablets, Losartan and Antorvastin which is a statin, the question says how many tablets do you take for High Blood Pressure if I put 2 it increases the premium massively but I have been told Antorvastin is for lowering your Cholesterol and if I put 1 Tablet for Blood Pressure and 1 for Lowering my Cholesterol it drops the premium

I want to be insured correctly so any advice please because trying to see my Doctor is a non starter

Contact the practice manager and ask for clarification as to what your records say about what each medication is prescribed for. You might have to jump through a few few hoops of doing a subject access request, but it worked for me and they got back to me very quickly.
You don’t need a doctor‘s appointment just to check what the medication is prescribed for.The insurer told me that in the event of a claim it’s what written in the records that they would be going on.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Belts and braces would be to ask your Dr or someone at the surgery as ultimately the travel insurer likely would ask them for an answer however the NHS website is fairly clear:
Losartan - blood pressure - its a angiotensin receptor blocker - https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/losartan/about-losartan/
Atorvastatin - cholesterol - its a statin - https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/atorvastatin/about-atorvastatin/
Obviously you would need to declare high cholesterol as well as high blood pressure but in most medical screenings it will ask about high cholesterol when you declare high blood pressure.0 -
As others have stated, Antorvastin is prescribed to treat high cholesterol, while high cholesterol can ultimately contribute to high blood pressure, this medication is there to lower levels of cholesterol in your blood so I believe you would be correct in entering 1 drug under each category.
Losartan is given to directly treat high blood pressure."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0
