AMEX Application Expired - Should I re-apply for another credit card?

Hi all, I hope somebody is able to help give me some advice
Back in December 2024 I was approved for my first credit card - the AMEX Cashback Everyday Card. Unfortunately I was late providing my additional documentation as proof of address and the application expired in January (I had recently moved house and needed to update my banking address and receive a new bank statement)
I am now worried that this will negatively impact my credit score and affect future credit card applications. I want to re-apply for rewards credit card and don't know whether it's best to reapply to AMEX / apply for a different credit card / wait longer before undergoing a further credit check
Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Why don't you call Amex and explain? In my dealings with them I've found that you speak to a real person who is usually helpful.1

Ignore your meaningless score, it's not used - nor even seen - by any lender. The advice given above is good advice - speak to Amex first of all. If you end up needing to make another application (either with Amex or somewhere else), that won't be an issue. It would mean another hard search on your file, but that won't matter unless you've been applying for lots of credit products recently. If the last hard search was from December, another one now won't have any effect on your chances of being accepted.0
