Morning GERS and all who follow. Another glorious start and the temps are still rising - 25 deg today!! Wow! I had a rubbish sleep last night, tossing 'n turning and clockwatching. Grr.
Yesterday DF cancelled lunch as she had got in a state worrying about today's news from Oz. Understandable, and it's made worse by being so far away. So my day was spent being slothful, alternated the day watering some plants, a few indoor jobs and sitting outside reading. All peaceful, just me and the birds.
I got a surprise phone call late afternoon - from the cataract clinic! It's only 4 days since I was referred and I was requested to make an appointment for an initial assessment on the 12th. He asked lots of questions and then said he would e-mail me a 3 page registration questionnaire to print off and fill in to take with me. He couldn't book the transport for me but gave me the number of Yorkshire Ambulance to book it myself. So it's all systems go now after postponing it for far too long.
Today is bus trip day, Skipton as usual! It'll be lovely finally going out in summer clothes and not swaddled up in layers of winter clothes. I'm already planning what to have for my lunch! Followed by much chatting over our regular bottle of wine. It's always an enjoyable day.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Lots of white cloud with a promise of a high temperature for today. Yesterday didn't quite reach 20 degrees and the sun didn't quite poke out from behind the cloud but it was a lovely day. Warmth without scorching. My first exam was with a student with 50% extra time so I was there for five hours! Funnily enough, she opened the question paper, had a quick look and began to write, and write and write. Almost didn't stop for the whole two papers. Very odd for a student with adjustments. When I got home I hung out the washing and then did a small load of delicates which also got out on the line. And it all dried - such a good day when that happens. This morning I'm heading down the west peninsula to my hairdresser. It's only been five weeks so my doesn't really need cut as she did it a tad short last time. It's to see if the alternative method of applying colour has been successful for me. Usually it's done with foils, in March I asked the hairdresser to do it all over, mostly because I get very fidgety. All over took almost as long and used up more of the paste so I'm not sure if it was the way to go. For now, I can't see roots, but then I don't look much! We'll see.Lovely news about little one at school @DP1 - long may it continue.Must a'wa - coffee to drink before I leave. I hope that everyone has a good day and that the warmth gets into the old bones.PS - @AA - we get a copy of the exam papers to read. Geography was moderately interesting, too many graphs to made it riveting.13

Morning allVery misty out there again but I'm sure it'll burn off soonDH had his appointment at hospital yesterday. GP hadn't sent them the result of his PSA levels so they want him to have another blood test so they can see if there's any change. Doctor, ahem, checked his prostate and said he should have an op for them to, in their words, shave it so he can pass urine better so not need a catheter. Not sure when that will be.Bathroom coming on well, he keeps it all tidy at the end of each day which is much appreciated.Definitely an afternoon of sitting in the garden reading and enjoying the weather. All change, again, next week apparently.Glad things are moving quickly for your cateract op TA.Have a good day all and don't get sunburnt! x13

Morning All
Very high cloud at the moment with the promise of 24 degrees. Back door curtain is on the line, once dry it can be put away for the winter.
Cut the grass when I got home yesterday and potted on some more veggies - everything is now out of the kitchen and in the greenhouse at last.
I was very warm by the time I had finished so had a shower and relaxed all evening.
The little one didn't go to school yesterday and won't be in today, she has a sore tummy and generally doesn't feel too well, quite unlike her.
A couple of the little ones she sits with in school are also off, seems to be something going around.
Hope you're all well, take care. XX13 -

Good morning
Bright and sunny, I could get used to this, although I used to work with someone who moved to Spain with her husband and came back after 9 months as "every day was the same weather wise". I suppose it gives us something to talk about.
Off shopping today is get some extra food in for the family arriving on Friday. Dd says she will bring food with her also. Dont know what's for tea, maybe get something while out. Last night we had jacket potatoes with tuna and salad. OH wasn't impressed, he's strictly a meat and 2 veg man.
TA thinking of your friend, such a worry so far away.
Camelot hope the little one is feeling better.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to all who need them. Take care.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Office day today. Was misty when DH dropped me at the station and my bare legs felt it! Will hope to feel the benefit when it warms up later. Dinner is chilli which is already cooked so just needs warming through in the SC.I was at the community allotment yesterday - the adults were outnumbered by the home-schooled children so it wasn’t the tranquil place I needed. Will be switching to Thursdays or going super-early from next week.Your poor friend @TravellingAbuela - she must be beside herself x
Hope everyone gets a bit of sunshine today.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings14 -
