Hi folks,

I'm trying to help out my in-laws with their mortgage and part of this involves a gift from my own mother (through me in a joint borrower capacity)

The funds are currently in an account in Portugal and have been in her account for over 6 months following a property sale last year.

My broker is telling me that Skipton will not accept the monies unless we can get a statement in English directly from the bank and will not accept any officially translated copies of any statements in Portuguese.

We're at the point of offering on a property that fits their needs perfectly and now we've hit a jam.

Anyone been through a similar scenario and have any tips to unstick this?

I was planning on giving Skipton a call directly in the morning to see if there's any guidance they can point me to aswell.
