JD Sports not refunding

Needing some guidance, son bought some items from JD Sports , he returned two parcels on the same day 26/3/25 and has the proof of posting at the post office for evri collection , evri tracking states both parcels collected and updates to say they are on the way to the retailer , but nothing to say delivered,  it’s now over 4 weeks later and JD will not refund saying they won’t refund until they receive parcels, Evri say contact the retailer , we have been going back and forth , JD won’t escalate , we can’t get hold of anyone human to take this further, PayPal credit was used for one and klarna for the other, PayPal won’t refund either, this is for around £250 worth of goods, where do we go from here who’s liable ?

    Who arranged the return - your son or JD Sports? ie was it a prepaid returns label from JD Sports, or did he pay Evri directly for the return?

    If JD sports arranged it, pursue them.
    If he arranged it with Evri himself, pursue Evri.

    Thank you for your reply, we have focused on JD as they supplied the return and finally have made it a bit higher up and maybe getting somewhere
