Migrated over to UC from ESA (SG) and have ESA payment

Hi everyone.

I was migrated over the UC in March, they gave me the amount I'd be getting on the 16th of April and paid it on 23rd minus some because of payments I'd received from ESA.

Then without me knowing, yesterday they paid me an ESA payment (slightly less) and I don't know why.

Is anyone else who transferred over also getting ESA as well as UC?

Yes, this means your previous ESA award was Contributions Based with an Income Related top up.

Your IR ESA has been replaced by UC (monthly payment) .

Your CB ESA has converted automatically into New Style ESA, paid at 281.10 a fortnight.

You will probably receive communication about accepting work commitments for UC. Ignore anything about a work coach, medical evidence etc.
All you'll need is a quick phone call where your commitments will be to keep them informed of any changes, same as with UC.

I was on contributions based and then it was highlighted that there had been a mistake and I was entitled to Income related, I got a big back pay, but at the time I thought that meant that there was a mistake and it should have been income based all along.

Then there was a lot of people who had been underpaid and I just thought that was it.

Thanks for clearing it up for me.
