Hotpoint issue

New fridge freezer only 2 weeks old. Horrendous noise. Engineer came out yesterday and reported faulty compressor. Hotpoint dismissing engineers report and saying it’s fine. What can I do? I bought it directly from Hotpoint.

Has Hotpoint been out to see it, who employed the engineer?

Hotpoint sent the engineer, then disagreed with his findings, saying the video he took of the noise was normal. He advised them it wasn’t.

    AI Overview

Yes, you can potentially get your money back if you made a purchase with a debit card, especially if something goes wrong with the transaction. The primary mechanism for this is through a chargeback, where your bank can reclaim funds from the seller's bank.
Here's a breakdown of when and how you can do this:
When you can potentially get your money back (chargeback):

Unreceived goods or services: If you paid for something but didn't receive it, including if the seller went out of business.

Faulty, counterfeit, or defective goods or services: You can request a refund if the goods or services turned out to be faulty, counterfeit, or defective. You might need to return the goods
