Morning all
Bright and beautiful day here and temps set to rise to over 20 deg 😃 I have three people coming today and I think we will make the most of the weather and get out for a nice walk along the beach and get an ice cream .
Rob and I met our friends yesterday which was lovely, we went in a few shops to try and get him a sun hat but he has very little money again so they were all out of budget we ended up getting him one from a CS which is nice and will protect his head from the sun I long for the day when he has all of his own money and can buy the things he wants and needs.
Salmon for dinner tonight with new potatoes and sweetcorn, dd is working a sleep in so just OH and I here for dinner.
DD has been selling some of her clothes on Vinted and made over £50 yesterday she has more listed so will see what today brings, we usually just give clothes to the cs or clothing bank but it’s a good way to make a bit of extra cash.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning all, seems lovely again. I had a nice walk yesterday, needed some peace and quiet as DH started taking up the old flooring in the hall. As a quick fix a few years ago he put the self adhesive tiles down over the old laminate that was a bit warped after the flood. Omg they were a nightmare to remove, so sticky that when I stepped on the laminate it stuck my foot so hard it pulled my trainer off
Trying to get them in the rubbish bag to take to the tip was bad too. Anyway it's ready for the new stuff now.
We were able to bbq the stuff last night, once ND had taken the washing in. I had a word with them when I saw them come home from work warning that DH wanted to light it, they were very grateful- him indoors thinks I'm too considerate! Must rub off from my old Gran who always said to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself - anyway it was very nice.DP1, DGD must feel so anxious sometimes bless her.Chrisca- sorry you're having issues at what should be a happy time.Taff & SO- yes the watering can be a pain, luckily our back garden is fairly small.Hope everyone with health worries are ok.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. CHRISCA I'm so sorry you are stuck in the middle of a family feud and being deprived of contact with your new Gt GC. It's surprising how often these things can happen. My bus buddy DF is going through similar with her DGGD so I know how hurtful it can be. ((HUGS)) xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Morning all, we have more sun and blue skies but the forecast is for intermittent clouds and a high of 24 degrees !
Yesterday I did a bit of pruning and tying in of the honeysuckle, trimmed a few shrubs then sat and read my book in the garden. DD stopped by in the evening for a couple of hours and we had a good gossip catch up.
I'm off for my blood test this morning, home for lunch and then back out for Mr Fix It to have his cancer injection. I loathe these days when you're in and out as you can't get stuck into anything.
Hope everyone can get some sun today and good luck for all the upcoming appointments/holidays. Hugs to the poorly ones.
Take care all, stay safe and well.

@TravellingAbuela Thanks. I blame it on DS's ex wife. She was always a control freak and I think DGD was just at that age when they broke up to believe everything her mum told her and then becoming a teenager she would speak to my DS and then get the hump about something and not contact him. The contact over the last 10 years has only been by phone or text anyway. I've calmed down a bit now and what will be will be x10

This scenario sounds exactly the same as what my friend has gone through Chrisca. It's so sad x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11

Morning everyone
We're forecast 20 here today too, only seems to be for a few days, but I'll enjoy sitting out in it after work.
Well my shed is now in DD's garden - little one thinks it's hilarious that 'the man stole granny's shed!' He needs to do a couple more bits to it and then will start my summerhouse. I've got two lovely rattan rocking chairs sitting in my Amazon basket and want an outdoor rug to go in it too but will have to wait to see what size I need.
Little one was fine at school yesterday and even went out tree planting in the village, DD went too as she wasn't keen on going without her. It was lovely to see her at playtime running down the field with her friends. I can't remember who said, but yes she feels very anxious as she knows her sugars can drop so fast and she could collapse...no 6 year old should be worrying about that, but plenty children will be worse off than she is.
Right I'm going to make my packed lunch and get downstairs dusted and hoovered - the children at nursery found it hilarious yesterday that I had a spoon and no yogurt! I'll have to remember it today.
Oh, dad has read a couple of the books and didn't mind the swearing at all!
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Spoon and no yoghurt Dp1 sounds just what I’d do
today is a house work day ,tomorrow a couple of appointments then Thursday is A day ,not sure why I’m so nervous .keep having stern chats with myself .
it is what is is as my poor DH used to say ,it was 4 years yesterday since he died, seems ages, but only yesterday if that makes sense .I had ab busy day deliberately.
Stay safe all11 -
Morning! Sunny already.. Someone is coming to hopefully buy a large angle grinder this morning, followed by a phone call form the nurse, followed by me phoning various people about various stuff. Then there'll be a spot of gardening, allotment or garden or both. Right, done one call, had one call, two appointments to go to now and the bloke came for the angle grinder so that's done too. One message to arrange something else and I can get going...and the message is done..so just appointments now nd some gardening, easy day...Chris, OHs stepdad had the same thing with his kids but now they're a lot older and realise what was going on and have changed their tune...it will come with age I expect. Rosy, I think it's nice you warn your neighbour, no one likes smoky clothes adn I have a tendency to leave mine out overnight if I'm a bit late putting them on the line..Gers, shower! woop woop! Allie, can't beat a bit of tartan... Take care all, enjoy the day...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Morning all. It's another sunny day here and we could get up to 24 deg! Yesterday the sunshine was quite hazy and didn't make it to full strength until teatime, maybe it will be a full sun day today.
Another day of wall washing is on the cards. Well, it's more of a do a bit/rest a bit/do a bit more/rinse and repeat; I keep reminding myself it will all be worth it - eventually. The room itself is upside down, as is the rest of the house and it's annoying to have to keep looking for things, although I have tried to be as organised as I can. And I'm missing seeing photos etc that have been temporarily removed. It seems very bare and echo-y (sp?).
The plumber should be here sometime between midday and 4pm but I'm not expecting him to take more than 10 minutes to do his stuff. Once he's gone I'll put back all the gubbins I moved yesterday and need to give the stopc*ck a squirt of WD40 - it's a bit stiff, to say the least.
Tea tonight is a liver, bacon & onion casserole with baby potatoes and peas. Not exactly warm weather food but it's defrosted so I'll have to eat it. I might change the meal plan for the rest of the week to salad or pasta. That's one good thing about being a singleton - you can please yourself!
My thoughts are with those who are battling with their health or that of loved ones, family relationships etc, life certainly throws us some curve balls but they do make the happier times all the sweeter. Take care all, be good to yourselves. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12
